Artists from school, the community, and the area are preparing original 5" x 7" pieces of art in any medium including photography for a benefit of the Robin Simmons Arts Scholarship at FSHS.
On December 6, 2013, patrons are invited to preview the art and have hors d'oeuvres in the High School Auditorium from 5:30 until 6:30, at which time, a bell will ring and buyers can "dart" to their chosen piece of art, remove the tag with the item's number, and check out for $20. Buyers will then discover the name of the artist of the piece.
The Fort Sumner Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event which will fund scholarships in the arts given in Simmons' name in honor of his retirement from teaching art at Fort Sumner Schools.
Tax deductible contributions are welcomed as well. (Please make checks payable to FSHS Robin Simmons Arts Scholarship, 1001 E. Sumner Ave., P. O. Box 387, Fort Sumner, NM 88119).
The Elementary Christmas Program will be held December 10 at 6:00pm in the Multi-Purpose Room.
The Science Fair will be December 9-13. Contact Ms. Kramer for more information.

Congratulations to Mrs. Lisa McMath, Varsity Volleyball Coach, for recording her 400th win!!! That is quite an accomplishment for her and the many Vixens who have played volleyball over the years. She has received many honors, including "Volleyball Coach of the Year" for the state. She was honored Tuesday, October 22 at the games against Melrose.
Vixen Volleyball would like to thank everyone who contributed or donated to their recent Dig Pink event. With the support of our community, the Vixens were able to raise over $5,000 for breast cancer research and awareness! All of the money raised is being donated to the Side-Out Foundation.
